About Me

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  Let me tell you a bit about myself.......

I'm an old soul, slightly eccentric, and an introvert. Married to a wonderful man, Chad, for 17 years. Mother of 4 great kids; ages 25, 23, 23, and 17, and Mimi (grandma) to a sweet little girl born June 2015. I love strong coffee, cooking good food, traveling, and time spent with my husband and family. This blog will mainly be about my life, my family, budgeting, slow, conscience living, and my love of travel.  I also have many life experiences which I touch on occasionally, such as, growing up in a fundamentalist home, abuse, gun violence, being a teenage bride, widowhood, leaving the church, debt, and living with fibromyalgia. I feel all of those experiences made me the person I am today and hopefully my stories will help others.

In 2013, after 15 years in banking management, my husband Chad quit his job and we sold our house and half of our belongings in Nebraska. From there we moved our daughters off to college and left behind our lifestyle to move to Virginia.  Chad had longed for a change of direction in his career so we took the plunge and it totally changed our lives!  We lived for 4 years in an old farmhouse in the country, but now make our home in a comfortable brick home in the woods.
